Wildfire Gymnastics completed its compulsory Levels 3, 4 and 5 pre-championship season of 2014 on the weekend of October 10th at the 3rd SoCal Sectional Qualifier. The competition involved in total, 439 gymnasts. All 58 compulsory level Wildfire gymnasts have qualified to Sectional Championships. Thirty one of these girls ranked among the top 6 All Around from which 16 of them won either Gold, Silver or Bronze. By meet’s end, Wildfire teams Level 3, 4 and 5 each won their respective Team Championship.

Wildfire team Level 3 culminated as team champions with a score approaching a 9.55 average. Leading our Level 3 effort was Lauren Bowers (37.875). She, including Addie Anderson (37.725), Payton Polana (37.675), Ailani Tran (37.525) and Aarushi Anil (37.500, 1st Vault - 9.75) represented well as these 5 athletes, completed their day as part of the top 7 among 10 & 11 year olds. Tied for 1st as nine year old All Around Champions were Amelia Wagner (37.800, 1st Beam - 9.725, 1st Floor - 9.60) and Ashley Pak (37.800). Eight year old AA Champion Alison Thomas (37.425). Closely following was 8 year old runner up Presley Wickman (37.400, 1st Vault - 9.55, 1st Beam - 9.80!).

Level 4 team champions, Wildfire Gymnastics, accounted for a 9.40 team average to win. Ten Level 4 gymnasts earned top 6 All Around awards. Team leader was Brisa Mariano ranking 4th AA among the 134 Level 4 gymnasts competing this meet, including those from both days, every age group and session. Seven & 8 year old All Around Champion Avery Byun continued her winning habits of late while Dominique Oertel is close in the mix placing among 7 & 8 year olds 3rd AA (1st Beam - 9.80!, 1st Floor). Further standout performances include those by All Around Runner Up, Amy Sullivan (1st vault, 1st Floor) and Ruby Mach, the 3rd highest scoring Level 4 representing Wildfire Gymnastics.

Wildfire gymnasts won the Level 5 team Championship while maintaining a 9.35 individual event average to do it. As Wildfire’s leading Level 5 All Around scoring gymnast (37.375, 1st Beam - 9.80!), Olivia Roberts’ age 9 & 10 Silver Medal AA performance ranked her 4th amongst the total roster of 85 Level 5 athletes participating, both days, every age group and session. Close behind Olivia by score, 1st place 11 & 12 AA Champion Erika Flaherty, finished in the Gold as well regarding each of the individual events - Vault, Bars, Beam and Floor. Outstanding medal efforts include 11 & 12 year old All Around Silver Medalist, Makenzie Stanton (1st Beam - 9.7) and Karyssa Owens on Floor (9.70).
