Her dreams came true when she was recruited and accepted to be on the Beavers Gymnastics team.

Allyse
Ishino receives a full ride scholarship to Stanford
University.
Allyse
will finish her senior year at Foothill High School
competing for Wildfire under the coaching of Bill
Callander, Rhonda Schwandt, Tom Wakeling and Stephanie
Vittorio until she graduates to be sent off to
Stanford University. She is an excellent student
who enjoys school and gymnastics. As an International
Elite gymnast, Allyse was a member of the U.S.
Senior National Team and placed 4th All Around
at the 2004 U.S. Olympic Trials. The Stanford
coaches are eager to put Allyse on their team
next year. “ Allyse is a beautiful athlete
and is known for her exquisite lines and presentation.
“ said coach Smyth of Stanford.
Whitney
Watson receives a full ride scholarship to Oregon
State University.
Whitney
will finish her senior year at Villa Park High
School competing for Wildfire under the coaching
of Bill Callander, Rhonda Schwandt, Tom Wakeling
and Stephanie Vittorio until she graduates to
be sent off to Oregon State University. Whitney
is excited to begin our 2006 competitive season
(especially because our Wildfire Team will travel
to Hawaii). She is equally intense about her school
(where she dances for advanced dance team), and
loves the field of Physiological Science that
she intends to pursue at Oregon State next year.
Coach Chaplin of OSU will acquire Whitney as his
2nd Wildfire graduate (Cassandra Rowell was granted
a scholarship last year). Chaplin said, “
Whitney has a true passion for the sport and is
very excited to compete at the collegiate level.
Whitney’s confidence and winning attitude,
along with her athletic ability, immediately grabbed
my attention in the recruiting process. She is
a dynamic all-around gymnast, who will flourish
throughout her career at Oregon State.
Skye
Gentile earns a walk on spot at Arizona State
University.
Gentile arrives to Tempe from Southern California.
After battling an injury her senior year of high
school, the Newport Beach native trained hard
over the summer and has the potential to compete
on bars, beam and floor. "Skye has improved
a great deal on bars over the summer before coming
to Tempe," says Spini, "She could also
help us out on beam and floor. "The Sun Devils
welcome six new faces to their team. Spini is
very excited to see what the freshman can bring
to the team.
Gaby
Grey recieved a full ride scholarship to Southern
Utah University.
Southern
Utah women's gymnastics head coach Scott Bauman
announced the addition of Gabriela Grey (Long
Beach, Calif./Marina HS) and Lauren Jeffrey (Kingwood,
Texas/Kingwood HS) after receiving national letters
of intent for the 2008-09 season. “"From
top to bottom this is the strongest recruiting
class we have had in a while"” Bauman
said. “"These two could come in and
compete on six events right away."”
Grey is a level-10 gymnast with Wildfire Gymnastics
in Southern California and is coached by Bill
Callander. In 2007, she placed 10th in the all-around
and 5th on floor at the level 10 regional
competition. The year
before, at the same meet, she finished 16th in
the all-around and tied for 5th on floor. “"Gaby
is an incredible athlete and a great competitor"”
Bauman said. “"There are some tiny
things that we need to work on with her to become
stronger, but she has all the elements in place
to be a solid gymnast."
Alyssa Pritchett earns a walk on spot at the University
of California at Los Angeles.
Alyssa
Pritchett has accepted an offer to join the UCLA
Women's Gymnastics Team beginning Fall 2008. Although
other division 1 schools expressed interest with
full scholarships, her first choice and personal
goal has always been to be part of the rich athletic
and academic history established at UCLA. Who
knew that taking a "Mommy and Me" gymnastics
class at three years of age would begin to nurture
a passion and skill that would guide Alyssa to
compete alongside olympians and scholars? Alyssa
has benefitted tremendously from the outstanding
coaching of Bill Callander, Rhonda Schwandt, Tom
Wakeling and Stephanie Vittorio who all take pride
in making Wildfire Gymnastics successful on so
many levels. Alyssa will have ample opportunity
to persue her interest in Physical Therapy while
exploring a wide variety of other options for
study. She will finish her senior year at Calvary
Chapel High School while competing for Wildfire
Gymnastics.
