We would like to congratulate Coach Annalise for being honored as Coach of the Month for December 2014. Annalise joined the Wildfire coaching staff this past summer. She grew up in Corona and moved to Missouri in 9th grade and has been living in the Midwest ever since. Recently she convinced her husband of three years, Chris, to come to the west coast and experience the beautiful CA weather, the ocean she so missed, and for her to take on the opportunity of working with a successful gymnastics program. Annalise drove to Dallas last April to interview with and meet Wildfire’s Director (who was in Texas for a cheer competition). Nancy hired Annalise on the spot and couldn’t be happier having her help with all aspects of the job from coaching to supervising to parent interaction and class scheduling. Annalise approaches everything she does very professionally with a mature mind set beyond her years.
Annalise grew up living the gymnastics dream – recreational classes to team to competing through level 8, to meeting her gymnastics hero Jamie Dantzscher, a member of the bronze medal winning 2000 Olympic team, to attending the 2003 World Championships in Anaheim. And then it happened – the dreaded injury that gave her a major setback. And at the same time, her father decided to open his own business outside of CA. Heartbroken, Annalise gave up the sport she loved, made the move and as an only child took comfort in her pet bunnies. But true to the Annalise we have all come to know, she remained positive, channeled her energies into school and playing volleyball. While attending Missouri State University Annalise joined a sorority and gained many leadership skills through that organization. She graduated with a degree in Organizational Communication.
Annalise has a passion for giving back and after college she spent 2 months on a mission trip in Mexico. Now living in Costa Mesa she and her husband are very active in volunteering with their church locally. Annalise loves to snowboard (so she’s happy to have the Big Bear mountains nearby for day trips). But she admits it is the beach that she loves the most - she finds energy and calmness in the waves and walks along the sand. Her most recent hobby after trying it out here at Wildfire summer camp is slack line walking. She even bought one for herself. We have come to conclude, there really isn’t anything this young lady can’t do and we are happy she shares her talents and love of gymnastics with all of us at Wildfire. Congratulations Annalise!
