Wildfire Gymnastics’ third meet of the season took place at the Ontario Convention Center housing the Gliders Invitational and Nastia Liukin Cup Qualifier. The single top All Around scoring Level 10 junior age group gymnast of the competition qualifies to the Nastia Liukin Cup to be held the AT & T Stadium in Dallas, TX this March 7th. Wildfire’s Nicoletta Koulos’s score of 38.300 AA (1st Vault - 9.80, Bars and Floor), not only ranked her first among junior Level 10’s, but as well, second among the entire competitive field of over 650 athletes including all age groups, levels and sessions.

Level 10 Emily Lopez, winning three events in route (Vault, Bars and Floor), completed her day as the 13 & under All Around Champion with a 37.125. That score put her as part of the top 5 among the 36 Level 10’s competing, including all age groups. The All Around Silver Medal for 17 & + yrs went to Wildfire’s 2014 NIT National Vault and Floor Champion, Grace Kramer.

As did Wildfire’s Level 10 team placing 2nd, the Level 8’s did the same. Wildfire’s Level 8 AA Champion, Juliana Harrison (1st Beam - 9.550 and Floor) and runner up Aurora Huxman (1st Bars - 9.600 and Vault), while competing as part of the 12 - 13 age division, each ranked by weekend’s closing event, inside the top 6 of the 64 Level 8 gymnasts participating. Amanda Obergfell’s spotlight effort brought her a 7th place standing among that same group of sixty four, a 10 - 11 age division Vault and Bar Championship and a Silver Medal All Around finish.

Wildfire’s Jordyn Warner, the 2014 Level 5 State AA Champion, won her first Level 7 competition ever, taking with that achievement the 1st place 7 - 9 year old All Around Gold (37.625) and three event Golds as well (Vault, Bars and Beam - 9.650). Karyssa Owens, herself a first time ever Level 7 competitor, finished well enough for 3rd AA and winning with it Vault and Floor.

Congratulations to Level 9, Alison Rannalli for a solid All Around performance placing 4th. Alison’s score ranked her 7th among the total number of 55 Level 9 gymnasts competing during the course of the weekend affair. Additional highlights include individual event victories such as Madalyn Parsons’ win on Floor (9.550), Jordyn Duffield’s 2nd on Vault, Judy An and Madison McIntyre’s Silver Medal efforts on Beam.
