Wildfire’s last team competition prior to the SoCal State Championships was the three day event, Heart of a Champion Invitational held at the Pasadena Convention Center beginning February 27th. From this came three team championships, they being for Levels 8, 9 and 10 and a 2nd place position for Level 7. Also from this event were 12 top three All Around finishes including 44 individual event top three award winners.

Congratulations to Level 10 All Around Champion Emily Lopez (1st Beam, 2nd Vault and Floor), runner up Nicoletta Koulos (1st Vault, 2nd Beam) and Bronze medalist Grace Kramer (1st Vault - 9.750, Beam and Floor - 9.600) for their strong performance efforts. Along with individual event contributors Sanya Glauber (2nd Bars) and Erin Weisel (1st Beam, 2nd Floor), they together, became the 2015 Heart of a Champion Invitational Level 10 Team Champions.

Wildfire’s Level 9 Sr. 15 + All Around, Beam and Floor (9.500) Champion, Madison McIntyre finished her session ranked 1st of 51 gymnasts participating including all age groups. Following Madison, in age group was Silver AA Medalist Madalyn Parsons, she winning Vault, Bars in the process. All Around 3rd place finisher Presley Simo concluded her competition winning Gold on Vault. All three girls completed their session ranked inside the top 9 as part of the 51 rostered to compete, including all age groups. Lanie Kimura proves an excellent performance on Floor winning that event with 9.400.

Wildfire’s Level 8 gymnasts, 6 in number, together evolved as 2015 Heart of Champion Invitational Team Champions. The twelve and under age division’s All Around Champion, Amanda Obergfell (1st Bars) finished her session of 54 athletes ranking 1st among them. Ranked 3rd of that group of 54 gymnasts was Jr. 13 AA Champion, Juliana Harrison, she winning Beam as well. Sr. 14 + Level 8 All Around Champion, Isabella Ghio (1st Floor, 2nd Vault and Bars), was herself ranked as having the 6th highest AA score of that session of 54. Individual event highlight Gold Medal performance includes Vault Champion, Madison Wong.

Of the total number of 120 Level 7 participants, Wildfire’s Kimi Kishimoto (Jr. 12 - 13 year old AA Silver medalist), and Phoebe Ladd (1st Vault) ranked among the top 10 scorers, Kimi showing at 5th from that group of 120. Invitational Bar Champion and All Around Bronze Medalist, Jordyn Warner rounds out Wildfire’s own Level 7 top 3 All Around contenders.
