2009 Western Sectional Report: LaMar Scores Unprecedented 39.1
|

 |
Our compulsory teams 4, 5 and 6 have completed their Western Sectional Championships, qualifying all to the SoCal State meet in San Diego on November 13 - 15.
Sydney LaMar kept her undefeated season alive this Fall season with an unprecedented All-Around score of 39.1! This score averages to a 9.775 per event, and we believe the score to be the highest ever recorded in Southern California compulsory competition history. The Team itself posted a combined average of just under 9.5 for the win.
Logan McBain posted our leading Level 5 All Around score, winning Beam as well. Also, winning Beam and Bars on the way was Nicole Katzaroff, who placed first in her division as the 2009 AA Sectional Champion. Team 5 finished 2nd place out of the 10 teams competing, with a 9.35 average.
Madalyn Parsons is, again, our foremost Level 6 scoring athlete. Placing 2nd in her All Around division, Madalyn's 37.025 ranks fourth among the 70 gymnasts competing at this level. Katherine Lubinski's culminating effort was fifth of the total. Sectional Champion (12 - 13 year old) was Brianne taking along with her three golds in the process.
Of note was that of the many particularly strong teams participating in the Western Sectional. We were alone in the distinction of placing each team, Levels 4, 5 and 6 within the top two ranking positions... even the top three, or four......
