Cerise Witherby, 6th ranked Junior D gymnast at JO Level 10 Nationals this past May along with 2009 Level 9 Western National All Around Champion Courtney Napoli spent November 5th to the 8th attending, by invitation, a training camp at the National Training Center on the Karolyi Ranch in Waverly, Texas. The camp was by design specifically for those Level 10's who placed 5th through 8th at this year's National Championships in Auburn, Washington and 2009 Level 9 All Around Champions from Western/ Eastern Nationals.

The experience there proved to be informative, motivating and rewarding. The athletes benefited by a well organized training regime led by members of the USAG National Staff. In four days, in which included six training sessions, the gymnasts were able to achieve many personal goals through the profound level of instruction and insight made available to them.

And it must be noted that there was also the atypical sense that the facility, the site on which so many heros of our sport have trained, contributed significantly to the overall value of the event.

Congratulations to Cerise and Courtney first for having earned their place in the manner in which they did and second for the successes they enjoyed while participating in this most noteworthy venture.
