Wildfire Gymnastics began its 2015 competitive optional level season in NorCal at the San Francisco Classic, the meet site being the Herbst Pavilion, Fort Mason Center. By competition’s end, Wildfire finished with at least one All Around Champion at every level entered, these being 7, 8, 9 and 10. Complementing this effort was what came about as three San Francisco Classic 1st Place Team Championships, representing Levels 8, 9 and 10.

Some coming from as far as Florida, Georgia and then even then Japan, 744 gymnasts participated, they representing every level ranging from 2 to 10. Ranked 1st by score among this entire number of 744 athletes was Level 10 Wildfire gymnast, Nicoletta Koulos (38.300, 1st Vault - 9.675, 1st Bars - 9.625, 2nd Beam - 9.500, 2nd Floor - 9.500). Along with her All Around total, Nicoletta’s Bar score was the highest of the meet including every level, age group and session. Placing 2nd AA in her session following Nico, Level 10 Emily Lopez’s score of 37.625 (1st Beam - 9.600, 1st Floor - 9.525) ranked 3rd among all Level 10’s numbering 59 gymnasts. Ranking 7th overall among this roster of 59, ASU bound Grace Kramer completed a Level 10 Wildfire AA sweep by placing 3rd All Around in her session (2nd Vault - 9.600, 2nd Bars - 9.450).

Of the 72 gymnasts who as Level 9’s participated at the 2015 San Francisco Classic, three Wildfire athletes ranked inside the top nine of that number of 72. Among them were, Senior All Around Champion Madalyn Parsons (1st Beam, 2nd Bars and Floor), Senior 2nd place All Around finisher Madison McIntyre (1st Bars, 2nd Vault and Beam) and 2nd place Junior B - All Around Champion Alison Rannalli (1st Bars, 1st Beam). Of note is that Alison’s Beam score (9.600) was the highest of the 72 Level 9’s competing including every age group and session. Her Bar score (9.45) was ranked 2nd among the same 72. Wildfire’s individual event winners also include: Calyx Hampton (Vault - 9.400, Floor - 9.450), Jordyn Duffield (Vault - 9.400) and Katelyn Johnson (Floor - 9.575).

Of the 22 Level 8 gymnasts who competed in our Sunday morning session, Wildfire entered five athletes, four of them as All Arounders. Of the four, all ranked as part of the top 6, three of them as top 3 finishers. Bella Ghio was Wildfire’s Senior AA Champion winning Beam and Floor, placing 2nd on Vault in the process. Culminating her day finishing 2nd Junior All Around was Juliana Harrison winning Beam (9.600) and Floor (9.400). There were in total, during the course of the three day competition, 105 Level 8 gymnasts competing. From that number, Juliana’s Beam score was ranked 1st. Aurora Huxman finished out as 3rd AA. Included would also be the Senior Level 8 individual event champion on Vault - Madison Wong.

Leading Wildfire’s Level 7 effort was 2nd place All Around Champion, Kimi Kishimoto (2nd Vault, Beam and Floor. Following was Allyson Hom at 3rd AA. Strong support by individual event gold medalists include: Floor Champion Taylor Trivino and Phoebe Ladd (1st Floor, 1st Vault - 9.675). Phoebe’s Vault score, which held to be by the end, the highest Vault score of the 118 Level 7’s competing, this being from every session and age division.
